Wyoming’s Genetic Data Privacy Act

This law was passed to help protect genetic data as it can be used to identify individuals and their family members and can contain their private health information. It mandates that pharmaceuticals, hospitals, and any other entities disclose how they gather, distribute, and use a patient’s genetic information.

Looking Ahead

There are a multitude of bills that have been recently introduced in the state government. For example, Parental Consent (HB0019) is a bill that address the necessity of minors under 18 to have parental consent to use social platforms. Another one would be the Age Verification for Harmful Material (HB0043) that requires websites are harmful to minor to conduct an age verification.
